VILLAGE GREENS
Village Greens is an ongoing series of works, each created for a specific location. People place their heads inside these ‘personal biospheres,’ becoming part of the landscape and being immersed in the smells and up-close views of the plants, soil, and tiny creatures. When standing inside, people become aware of mutual dependence as they share the air. In each installation the works are unique because the planting plan and sculptural forms are determined by local conditions. The plants are selected to reveal local ecologies or highlight hybrid landscapes. The development of each work is a collaborative creative process with museums, galleries, schools, and a variety of public institutions.
