I
nstallation with soil, native plants of Oregon, wood, canvas, hardware, paint, video projection, sound, maps of Willamette River watershed
Commissioned by Disjecta, Portland, OR

In the installation space, a warehouse with windows looking out on the Willamette River in Portland, OR, a grouping of boat forms filled with plants native to various elevation zones of the surrounding watershed proceed through the space, hovering over a map of the river.  The project imagines a “re-colonizing” of the urban environment by these explorers. Video footage of the view traveling downstream fills one end of the space.
