LOOPSCAPES
Village Green: Loopscapes, 2024
Biosolid compost from local municipal sewage facilities, local native plants, terrarium structure of clear acrylic, steel, and hardware.
Loopscapes invites people to encounter plants growing in soils made from local municipal sewage (poop) compost. The installation was commissioned by the
Gates Foundation Discovery Center as part of their exhibition about sanitation. I was interested in this opportunity to address human feelings of revulsion around waste, and to create a space for sensory and somatic understanding of our connection to these cycles.
