more mountains

This work builds on the ideas in Surrogate Mountain. Miniature versions of Mt. Rainier, the iconic peak, crop up out of the ground at the Berskshire Botanic Gardens (left) and then grow out of the walls at SOIL Gallery (below). In both cases the scale versions of the mountain simulate mushrooms or some other organic growth. Drawings (Core Sample, 2008) explore the point at which landscape becomes object.
